Not all trips are urgent. If you are looking to travel, but don't know when to go or when to buy your plane tickets, timing can make a difference. In general, Tuesday and Wednesday tend to be the cheapest days to fly and tickets are usually less when purchased 1 to 2 months before your trip. This does not always hold, especially when booking tickets around the holiday season. To find out when to buy and when to wait, try visiting www.farecast.com. FareCast offers an easy format that tells you when to buy. It takes where current prices are and what past trends have been and then lets you know whether you can expect the price to go up, go down or hold.
Oh, and if you want to keep track of places you tend to go a lot, create a profile on Kayak.com. You can note the places you've been and trips you're going on. Get an idea of what airfare is going for to the places to you like visiting. With these online tools, you can get a good idea of where to go, when, and how to pay less. Save on airplane tickets and then save on the hotel by staying at a nearby Extended Stay Hotels. So where do you want to go next?

If you're planning a trip for the holidays and haven’t gotten your plane tickets yet, you may be in luck. According to a recent article, there may still be deals to be had. However, you need to act soon since this season is notoriously busy for airports. If you're driving, you probably haven't put much time into planning your trip yet, understandably. No matter how you are getting to your holiday destinations, now may be a good time to start thinking about where you're going to stay when you get there.
This may seem like a silly thing to say. If you're going to visit family for the holidays, you are going to want to spend time with them, including staying at their house. While it’s great to spend time with family during the holidays, it may also be the perfect time to make sure you also have your own space. Consider getting a hotel room nearby. That way you can enjoy time with loved ones, yet go back to a place that's quiet at the end of the day. It will be more relaxing for you and less stressful for your hosts. And a room over the holidays doesn't even have to be that expensive. Check out the holiday travel deal that Extended Stay Hotels is offering.

Many business travelers leave a family behind when they go on the road. And when young children are back at home, it can be difficult to stay in touch and involved. Communication is key whether it's calling, emailing, or leaving a tape recorded bedtime story behind. Although business travel can be hectic, taking the time in the evening to touch base with loved ones can make all the difference. There is also an up side to traveling solo. The rest of the evening is yours to do what you want with. You can get a respite from small children and have some time to yourself. If you use it to best advantage, this can be a real perk that leaves you relaxed, rested, and ready for both work and your return trip home.
And for moms in particular, Modern Mom has a great article about how to make the most of business travel.
