FEMA Extension

Good news for some Extended Stay guests who will be staying a little longer. FEMA recently announced an extension of its hotel accommodations. The end date is now December 15 nationwide with a possible extension until January 7 in 10 states with the largest numbers of displaced hurricane survivors. This is a welcome reprieve from the previous looming deadline of December 1. In the meantime, FEMA promises to help find housing for people and continue rental assistance for up to 18 months.
Extended Stay Hotels continues to provide temporary housing during this transition period as permanent housing is secured. Around 50,000 hurricane evacuees are still residing in hotels, many of them at Extended Stay Hotels properties. We welcome our displaced guests for this additional time and applaud FEMA's extension decision as they assist with the housing search.
